Celebrating Aussie and Indonesian games!

We ran our 3rd ever Games Exchange with Indonesian game developers recently! In collaboration with Indie Games Group Indonesia, we traded 6 Australian games for 6 Indonesian ones, showcasing them on both ends in Sydney and Jakarta.

Here’s the lineup of Aussie and Indonesian games we showcased:

Like previous Games Exchanges, we kicked off our events with welcome videos prepared for the other event, introducing all the indie games to attendees across the seas. These intros are always exciting, because the devs and organisers we’re partnering with are often unable to attend the overseas events, making these heartfelt messages a point of connection over our shared love for indie games!

After all the introductions were through, attendees were invited to try out games from respective partner countries, as well as sample local snacks! In addition to exchanging cultures through games, food has always been a good way to foster understanding, and spark conversations. For us organisers, it’s great fun preparing a diverse spread, and something different in the indie games event space! (Also, introducing our international friends to the mystique of fairy bread, haha!) Here are a bunch of photos of people enjoying Australian and Indonesian games!

Finally, we’d like to thank Screen Australia for their constant support via the Games Festivals and Events Fund, IGEA for their support that made it possible to host the Games Exchange at the Redfern community center, and MSI Australia for supplying all the equipment! Over in Indonesia, we’d like to thank IGG Indonesia and Binus University for partnering with us and making this exchange possible!

Thank you for attending and making the event special! Noble Steed Games is a small team and we’re incredibly honoured to have hosted such an event again. We look forward to doing more to support indie devs in the future!
